Not even worth the one star! Bought a 2021 Chevy Malibu with 60,239 miles from Scott Kolp on 3-05-24. I live 3 1/2 hours away from their dealership. On 4-23-24 I had to take car into Karl Chevrolet to have the heater controls looked at and they inspected my vehicle. Found the timing chain gasket was leaking. EVEN THOUGH THIS VEHICLE WENT THROUGH DEERYS CERTIFIED INSEPCTION!! So with my warranty I have a $125 deductible, fine. Then I have $250 worth of parts my warranty will not cover but Deerys extended warranty would for this job that’s costing over $2000, in a car that I’ve had less then two months. Called and spoke with Preston at Deery on 4-24 and he said he’d talk with his manager, they had a case similar to this and they worked something out. Called on 4-26 and spoke with Scott (my salesman) and he said he’d talk to his manager. Here it is the following day and Scott calls back. Says they can’t cover any cost but if I bring my car down to them, (3 1/2 hours with a timing chain gasket leaking) they’d fix it. Now mind you this is a 3 1/2 hour drive one way and the job takes 10 hours if there’s no issues. Then I have a 3 1/2 hour drive back to my house. Deery would rather their customer waste over 17 hours of our time ,then for them to cover $250 cost of parts that are not covered under my warranty, on a car I’ve had less then 60 days. IT WOULD BE CHEAPER FOR THEM TO PAY THE $250 then to pay for all the parts and their tech to do the work! NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY ANYTHING FROM YOUR DEALERSHIP! Even spoke with two general managers from both Burlington locations just to be told too bad!! General manager Terry from Deery Toyota was just as much help as the others. Was told to drive the car with a timing chain gasket leak the 3 1/2 drive. Never again will I buy anything from any Deery location.

Very poor customer service. Felt very uncomfortable dealing with them as they were very rude and unprofessional. Was told they didn’t want/need my vehicle from the moment we walked in the door. “They said it needs too much work” Then I go to start the vehicle I was there to look at and it wouldn’t even crank over. Unwilling to negotiate anything. Needless too say my family will never step foot in your dealership again and will not recommend to anyone that I know.

I had the worst experience with any Dealership ever in my 27 years of owning a vehicle. I DO NOT feel the need to go into detail if u have questions reach out to me. BUT I will never recommend purchase or services at this location. "Only in small town W. BURLINGTON "

Make make sure you check your car every time you take it there for tire rotation, a year ago they damaged one of my wheels it took them 4 months to buy me a new one, last time I was there I noticed a small scratch on one of my wheels I called the service manager levi and let him know about the situation 3 days later I went to the store to get a touch up paint, when I was cleaning my wheels I noticed all of them had either little scratches or small chips, the technician was not careful at all , when he did my tire rotation, my tire pressure was 28 when they are supposed to be 33 , 2 of my lug nuts on my rear passenger tire were a little loose definitely they need to be more careful , very disappointed smh

I don’t even like leaving bad reviews but after buying a vehicle for 65k it feels a little more personal that a dealership doesn’t make effort to take care of their customers. We traveled an hour to buy the vehicle. Once we got it home and checked out, the brakes on the car we purchased needed replaced (my husband is an ASE master mechanic) i contacted our salesman who said they checked out fine during their inspection and they would be at our cost. My husband has worked at dealerships for many years in his career and knows this is common practice to pass off a used car as “okay” if the repair is expensive. The brakes will cost us $3000 to replace as they are performance brakes. Obviously Deery didn’t want to front this bill so they checked it off as good to go in their inspection and now it’s our bill to pay.

I came in with cash. Test drove the car and asked a hundred questions about the history. Was assured by my salesman that I was buying a decent, used vehicle. Less that two weeks and 200 miles on the car, the check engine light comes on. A day later, the display reads 'Drivetrain Malfunction'. It was like puking teeth from an alligator, trying to get any help. My salesman, sent me to the service center, the service center sent me to scheduling, she m scheduling sent me back to the service center and then to the sales manager, who was out of the office that day. No one wanted to help and no one had an answer. It's been a week and the car is still sitting there in limbo. The car has a drivetrain warranty, but Deery is looking for any escape from having to pay for a diagnosis or repairs. I will never deal with Deery again and would never recommend them to anyone. Would rate them 0 stars if I could.

Don't go to this place. Worst car dealership ever. They all lie to you and give you the less they can for your trade in and then sale it for 5 time's as much then they gave you. The vehicle I bought off them they said everything was good on it but got it home several switches stopped working and the windshield they said didn't leaked leaks. Save your time and money and go somewhere else.

Give you one price, then comeback and raise the price and claim that it's because the vehicle is available? Not the 1st dealership I've seen adding in an availability fee on a vehicle they have in stock. It's a new scam some of the less reputable dealerships are using ever since the covid shortage. Buyer beware! In response to owner comment... It was my sister who IS from Burlington that you raised the price on. But that's ok. She came to Des Moines to look at a car we sent her a link to, and she bought it up here. She bought the car as advertised, they didn't increase the price like you did.

They (salesmen) try to trap you in lot so they can TRY to sell a vehicle. If they won't even let you drive around and look without trying to corner you.... I can shop more pleasant places than this! I am wanting to purchase a new or almost new truck BUT because of their stupid chasing you down, I no longer shop there!!

Purchased my vehicle in January. Part of the agreement was to have warranty work done. It took us having to call multiple times to finally get it fixed, 6 months later. Got the run-around from our sales guy the whole time. Left my vehicle for a week to have work done after being told that would work with timing & the part wasn’t even there or ordered. Vehicle was at dealership for 2 weeks before finally getting fixed.

I have gone to the service department now 3 times in the last 3-4 months to get my vehicle fixed. I’ve spent almost 2000 already and now they want another 2200 out of me to fix a problem they said was already fixed. I have no more money, along with the almost 400$ monthly payment. I will be giving them a demand letter if they do not get this fixed. First visit they said it was my battery, second visit it was my starter hitting the flywheel, ECU, and some fuses. Now I don’t believe a word they say.
Bryce Walljasper
Did nothing to fix the problem except quote out all brand new parts.

I would recommend you DO NOT go here, customer service was poor to say the least! Is taking forever to get our title to get our vechile registered and licensed and when we would call to get updates they would rudely say they have up to 30 days to get it to us! That is after I had emailed them asking when we would be expecting it and NO Reply back!!! We have 3 days til the 30 days are up and its a Friday! When another family member bought a vechile the same day at another dealership in Burlington, Iowa and got their title 2 weeks ago!!! This was Not the first time we have bought from a dealershipn but we HAVE NEVER had the problems we have had through them! If I could leave no stars I would! Very disappointed in their customer service!

I was told that the tires were rotated during service. However, they were not. The front driver tire was low by 6lbs, and it was still low after my appointment. I thought maybe the tech just forgot to do a TPMS relearn when he finished, but this morning when i aired my tires, the front tire was still 6lbs low. I dont appreciate being told something was done when it clearly wasnt.

I'm writing this review 13 months after purchasing a 2016 Lincoln mkc with 51k miles. It has been a nightmare! During test drive I noticed heated seats weren't working was aggressively assured it was just warming up, never have worked, there was no code given to me and sticker is gone so never been able to use keyless entry, locking lug nuts were put on the car, no key came with and had to spend $86 to get them off. I called regarding these issues and was just given the "sold as is" speech. I just spent $2,336 on replacing all 4 "brand new" tires (3 of 4 were all unmatching brand and tred) , 3 parts they had claimed to have just replaced, alignment, and labor. And the "free" oil change I was told would be honored at my local dealership was in fact not free or honored. For spending nearly $25k on this vehicle I would warn anyone to steer clear if you expect any post sale assistance or customer service!

Ripoff fees and repair prices! These scammers charged me $160 to read a code as a diagnostic fee. Their repair estimate was $350 higher than two other repair shops in town and the Derry repair tech quoted me a higher price for one repair if I was not doing other unrelated service as well. Since google does not let me respond, I will add a reply here. Regarding your response that I “signed” for the diagnostic and misc fees you added, it’s a lie. I never signed for anything before the service because I dropped off the keys in the overnight box the night before. I didn’t fill out any repair paperwork because the drop box had no paperwork or even a pen, I had to write my info on a scrap piece of paper. I didn’t physically come in until picking up and paying for your rip off, unapproved fees…after I declined your ridiculously high repair costs. Even paying your almost $300 bill for just getting a $70 oil change done, I still came out ahead by GOING SOMEWHERE ELSE, so no…I don’t think anything you offer is a value, you are a dishonest and overpriced repair facility.

I wouldn’t buy from this guys or dealer. We transported a salvage car for them. Same car you see in the picture. Once we arrived manager told us unload here. We will get you a check. In fact it was a lie. No check was given to us. Car was dropped same car they will fix up and sell you as new . Truck doesn’t run is completely recked. We didn’t get paid and they have their truck . Very very dishonest folk. Been doing this 15 years never had to deal with a man who didn’t value his word

I will never do business with Deery again.. Had an appointment to get headlights replaced due to being to dim to drive at night. A class action lawsuit of Suarez vs Nissan said that a one time replacement would be made. I was told that my lights did not need replaced. Not sure how they can determine that at 9 o'clock in the morning. How about driving it after dark. Seems like that would be a more accurate test.

Dealership is price gouging and taking advantage of potential customers at this time. They are not a fair and honest dealership and should be ashamed that they are trying to see cars over 10K MSRP. They is going to put the client in very bad positions financially. I would not recommend doing business with this dealership and will be filling a claim with the BBB in regards to unfair business practices.

I've never been gaslighted by a car dealership before. That was until now. Derry Brothers Sales manager Tim boldface lied to my face. The service manager Liz denied things she said to me and reported she didn't say that to the owner. She then threw everybody else in the service department under the bus saying there are more working there than her, they might have said it. Everyone here is a snake. Buyer beware.

Well I waited 1 1/2 weeks for my appt. To be told I didn't have one. They changed my tires but didn't change my oil. All to tell me I'd have to wait another week and a half for my oil change. I've never been so disappointed in my service there until today. Guess I'll have to check a jiffy lube out.

I wanted the Taketa air bags replaced in my Toyota xB, and while I was at it I needed some body & paint work, a new windshield & a set of new tires. The service dept at Deery Bros. passed me off to their certified Toyota technician's voicemail where I never got a call back. A week later I called and talked to another service rep that took all of my car info. She said she'd have to order needed parts and would call back later to set up an appointment for the airbag recall and two other TSB's. Meanwhile, I went to Deery's Collision Center for an estimate to have an old front end crash repaired, body & paint touched up and a broken R.H. headlamp assembly replaced. While they were at it, the windshield needed replacement and a fresh set of lamps for the turn signals and headlights. I was paying out of pocket and left $1,000 deposit to get the ball rolling. A couple days later Deery Collision called to have my car dropped off for said repairs. Later that afternoon I got a call saying my car was ready. No Way. That same morning, I called the NHTSA hot line to see what was happening with my airbag recall & TSB repairs. The lady from NHTSA called Deery Bros., West Burlington and found out that their Toyota Certified technician had walked off the job several days ago and that their wasn't a Toyota Certified technician working on staff at Deery Collision either. Basically, Deery Collision removed the plastic front end, replaced BOTH headlight assemblies (after I told them to only replace the broken right side) and each front light capsule. Deery didn't bother to straighten any of the damaged sheet metal beneath the plastic covering, so the right headlamp assembly was left in a bind with a mounting bolt missing cos it didn't line up. The grill was still popped out, and now it took two people to raise the hood that was left in a bind. Underneath the car, a handful of blind pop rivets were utilized instead of the proper fasteners to hold the plastic together. They totally botched the job up. Talking to, Brad Deery, was like talking to Pontius Pilate washing his hands. He turned the matter over to, Justin, the body shop manager, who in turn said I should take my car to Mike Campbell's because he couldn't squeeze my car in for another three weeks. Justin said he couldn't give me a refund for the headlight I didn't need. I suppose I could go through small claims court trying to reclaim the cost of a $300+ headlight capsule I didn't need. What a way to do business. The one star grade is way above the ''Not Worth Two Dead Flies" way I feel. By the way, Justin, Cory Campbell, did fantastic work on my xB and fixed each of your screw ups. Thanks for the recommendation.

Very disappointed. Had four recalls live over an hour away. Was told would take 4 hours to do work. Was asked to be there at 8 am. Was right on time. Here's where it all went wrong. Kept getting told aost done three times. Was not done till 4 o'clock. Then left and coolant light still on what I originally notice. Had to fill at another place. Just wrong would not give me a car to drive. Had errands wanted to run Not happy will not go back there'

My experience was that I had to find and supply deery brothers with the part needed to fix my vehicle or wait several months and maybe they would have it by then. After a month when my vehicle was repaired I was given a much larger bill than was discussed. My experience was not good to say the least and I would not recommend deery to anyone.

Not a good sales experience when I bought my car new in 2013 and since then dealing with the service department for anything more than an oil change has been disappointing. My last service left me sitting along side the road waiting on a tow back to their service department so they could finish the job. Luckily it was finish(fixed) before they closed. Not how I wanted to spend my afternoon.

Also the vehicle rattled a lot when I test drove it and they had no idea about it. If I was any potential customer coming to this dealership. RUN AWAY!

BUYER BEWARE!! On 2/25/20 my husband and I drove 135 miles to Deery Brothers in W. Burlington to test drive a previously leased 2016 Highlander. My husband noticed that the tires were old, all mfd. in diff. years. He pointed this out to the salesman, Blake. He was very concerned with the drivers side front tire which was visibly older and looked as if the sidewall had been repeatedly scuffed against a curb. After the test drive, Blake showed us the service checklist, showing the service dept. had replaced the two rear tires because of significant inside wear on both. My husband noted to Blake that they had “replaced” the worn tires with used tires. My husband asked if the service dept. would have corrected the alignment problem that was obviously responsible for the uneven wear of the rear tires. Blake assured us that the service department would have realigned the rear wheels when they replaced the rear tires. He gave us the price quote for our trade. We asked that they make a price adjustment for the used condition of the tires since all 4 would need to be replaced much sooner than normally anticipated. . My husband repeatedly expressed concerns over the age of the tires to Blake and Tim, stating he would need to replace all four tires within a 1-2 year time period, due to their condition. He told them that new tires for that vehicle would most-likely cost us approx. $900.. With only a $400 credit for the tires, we did purchase the vehicle. While waiting, my husband went outside and checked the air pressure in all four tires. The driver side front tire measured 36 psi at that time. We had trouble with that very tire two days later. The low tire warning alert light came on while we were traveling 70 mph down the interstate. The tire, which had 36 PSI upon purchase, had dropped to 27 PSI, an obvious indication of an air leak. We inflated the tire to 40 PSI in order to get home. The very next morning, prior to the vehicle being driven, my husband checked air, and again found it had lost 13 lbs. just overnight! He inflated the tire to 37 PSI, and I immediately took it to a tire dealer to address the leak. After inspection, the service mgr. said the tire had previously been punctured thru-and-thru and had been patched (poorly); thus the source of the leak. We took picts. of the puncture from both sides. My husband is a retired state trooper and board certified crash reconstruction expert. He investigated hundreds of serious injury and fatality crashes for reconstruction purposes. Upon discovering the unsafely patched tire, he was FURIOUS that Deery Brothers sold this vehicle in this condition, especially after having expressed those concerns several times to Blake and Used Car Manager Heiniger. Patching a thru-and-thru punctured tire should only be used as a temporary measure until the tire can be immediately replaced with a NEW one. Not knowing the patch/repair condition of the other three USED tires put on the vehicle by Deery Brothers, 4 new tires were purchased 4 days after we bought the vehicle. The new tires were put on at a cost to us of $960.77. The vehicle was also found to be out of alignment, with several parts (camber kits) needing to be replaced in order to make the vehicle safe by aligning the wheels properly. This cost us an additional $181.00. So we were given a $400 allowance by Deery Brothers for something that cost us $1,141.77 to properly fix. Deery Brothers let this vehicle leave their dealership with a dangerous tire and wheels that were NOT aligned. Certainly negligent business practice. We emailed Deery Brothers with a detailed account of our experience after the poor tire patch was discovered. The next day we received a call from Used Car Manager Heininger. He was condescending to us on the phone and gave us no “relief”. He left us feeling like we were sh*t out of luck and that we that we were duped. That call was prior to the discovery of the wheel misalignment. It is clear that customer satisfaction is NOT a priority of Deery Brothers, especially for out of town customers. BUYER BEWARE!

Only because I cannot give them a zero. If you give a bad review for them, be prepared for them to call you at home to ask you to change your review, even after you explain the problem. I gave the review that I felt reflected my experience with them. Afterwards, I felt pressured to change my review and now my opinion is even lower of them. You might have a good experience though. No matter how early I come in for service there's always a excuse on why they can't get me in. They always tell me that I have to make a appointment or come back at a later time. This is a horrible place. This place kept my daughter there for over 8 hours waiting for their finance person. They told her she would lose her place if she left. They told her if she could have a cosigner she could get a better interest rate. She called me and I told her I would but couldn't be there until 7:30 that night. They told her no problem, she could get all the paperwork done and I could show up later and sign what I needed to sign. But then they kept her there saying it wouldn't be long. Ended up there for over 8 hours!!!!! I was mad when I found out. How could they treat someone so horribly. I found out as my husband and I were driving up there. We live 45 minutes away. I had called her, she was sick and weak from hunger. Her entire day of plans shot because of Deery Brothers. We made a quick stop at McDonald's for food for her. We get there as she was finally getting in to see the finance person. Now. Everything up to this point was really bad business on Deery Brothers, treating a customer that bad. But the finance person, he is either ignorant of his job or just a crook. I am there to cosign. He has me sign paperwork as a cobuyer. That is how it is done now. Okay, I verified this information with another dealership and they confirmed that is how it is done now. But, what that finance person at Deery Brothers LIED about was that he also said that because I had the better credit the registration/title had to be in my name. I argued this with him. I live in a different county then my daughter. He said this four or more times that I had to be the one on the registration / title and all I had to do was call the court house and they will switch it to my daughter's name. It was late, I was concerned for my daughter. She has already been there for so long, and with the finance guy telling us that is how it is done over and over. I signed the title. Now of course after talking to a honest dealership, they told me that guy lied. The finance company can care less whose name is on the title as long as their loan contract is signed. She was told they would fill up the tank before she left with the car. It was on the red line, empty. When she asked why, they said, oh that is for new cars only. Another lie.

Only reason I'm giving them one star is to give a review and you have to a least give one star to give a review. I hate doing business with them. They're not friendly and do not do anything to accommodate you. I bought a dodge Durango with a warranty, the tail lamp went out a couple months later. They tell me it isn't covered under the warranty so I had to pay 1,500 to get it fixed. My car also came with free oil changes for 2 years, I can never get in on a walk in. Even if I bring it in early in the morning. They say they do walk ins but they are never prepared to do walk ins to service a vehicle. I just really hate I gave them any business. I should have just stuck with shottenkirk. To me I feel like they don't do anything to satisfy the customer. Then again there's a lot of racism in this town so that might play apart too.

The salesman stated that he wanted to go check to see if the vehicle was still on his lot and asked for a callback number. And I told him I did not wish to be called back other than this once and then he informed me it’s too late we already have your number and there will be follow up calls. I expressed that this was against my wishes and he basically told me too bad. No Sir, what is too bad is thats the car in the color that my wife wishes for Christmas and there was a 90% chance that the boys and I was headed up this weekend to get it! Now 0%!
