Needed new transmission. I was told the amount and asked for an itemized invoice. I was told this is all he had. I felt it was high and sounded shady to not beable to get me an itemized quote. So I went to another dealer and they broke everything down for me. And they were 3,000 dollars cheaper. Won't be going back to this place.

This dealership is exorbitantly priced and the service manager is rude. Getting a battery replaced was nearly $500. The diagnostic check, which probably took 10-15 minutes, cost $160 alone. When I called the service manager to inquire how it could cost so much, the conversation ended when he told me he didn’t care if we ever brought our car back there and hung up on me. Completely unprofessional.

This is how they do there business they pay their Workers to sit on their phone and go through Facebook and deliberately lowball people saying they have to spend two grain to clean it so that’s all they can spend yeah why don’t you go take a gander and see what they list these cars for and then when you get your title after making your payment or better yet run the VIN see where the car came from and see how much they really paid for it. Damion Sorry you felt the offer made to purchase the car you are selling was too low. The dealership does purchase hundreds of vehicles annually and uses a program to find like vehicles listed online both private party and dealership inventory as well as auto auction results. An eighteen year old vehicle with 218,000 miles would most likely need a few things addressed and would need some reconditioning either cosmetically or mechanically or it would need to be offered As-Is and sold accordingly. (The pictures in your listing show the left rear tire is extremely low as an example of some potential reconditioning needed) We wish you luck selling your car.

As a former auto dealer myself, I only patronize dealers who do not overcharge (Toyota tax) with forced add-ons or fees. It’s rare in today’s (sellers) market. Why? Because they can. I’m happy to report that Deery Brothers makes the cut. Steve Donald was a pleasure to work with and the entire RAV4 transaction was quick, easy and transparent. Appreciate Steve staying past close on a Friday eve and not rushing any of the process. We also met the owner who was busily working / leading by example at a dealership who values customer relationships. Old school values that are appreciated and will ensure their success in the future.

The dealership did a diagnostic of my brake system I told them to replace the brakes the said that they just needed lube to stop the squeaking a weeks later the squeaking came back after already paying them 500 they asked for an additional 670 to replace the brakes that I had already asked for all in all I will no longer be receiving services from you guys very disappointed in the way I was treated

Attempted to cash in my KBB offer. I entered in all damage to KBB and so that was factored into my offer. I was contacted about my offer and asked to come in. I even explained that I’ve attempted to use this at other dealerships who offered me less than KBB cash offer quoted me at and their reasoning were damages that had been entered and calculated in KBB. I was assured that shouldn’t be the case. When I got there I got another lowball offer just like I did at the other dealerships and again using the same damage that was entered in KBB as their reasoning. I would understand if it was a surprise damage or something not disclosed, but to offer something lower and then say it’s due to damage that I disclosed in KBB already should get your right to KBB consumer information revoked.

Hunter, We do appreciate the opportunity to purchase your vehicle. Although KBB Instant Cash Offer is usually very accurate it may not be as accurate with a thirteen year old vehicle with over 180,000 miles. And of course a KBB Instant Cash Offer is subject to inspection which we did not get an accurate description though KBB. The smell of anti=freeze in the vehicle was not disclosed nor was the fact the vehicle would require new tires to be sold on our lot. There also was considerably more damage on the vehicle than what was disclosed. Perhaps the KBB Instant Cash Offer would have been a little more accurate if all the information was entered and disclosed. Good luck selling your vehicle.

Give you one price, then comeback and raise the price and claim that it's because the vehicle is available? Not the 1st dealership I've seen adding in an availability fee on a vehicle they have in stock. It's a new scam some of the less reputable dealerships are using ever since the covid shortage. Buyer beware! In response to owner comment... It was my sister who IS from Burlington that you raised the price on. But that's ok. She came to Des Moines to look at a car we sent her a link to, and she bought it up here. She bought the car as advertised, they didn't increase the price like you did.

Larry we apologize we did not explain the current market values when you contacted us. For our local and repeat customers we are absolutely working with them on pricing. We discovered early on when the supply of vehicles was really tight that out of the area customers were purchasing vehicles from us at the manufacturer's suggested retail price and taking them out of the area and selling them for much more the the suggest retail price due to the limited availability. We decided we needed to adjust our pricing to current market conditions. Larry, if you are a West Burlington area resident we certainly work with you regarding the price, however, if you are not in our area we suggest you shop at your local dealership.

Ripoff fees and repair prices! These scammers charged me $160 to read a code as a diagnostic fee. Their repair estimate was $350 higher than two other repair shops in town and the Derry repair tech quoted me a higher price for one repair if I was not doing other unrelated service as well. Since google does not let me respond, I will add a reply here. Regarding your response that I “signed” for the diagnostic and misc fees you added, it’s a lie. I never signed for anything before the service because I dropped off the keys in the overnight box the night before. I didn’t fill out any repair paperwork because the drop box had no paperwork or even a pen, I had to write my info on a scrap piece of paper. I didn’t physically come in until picking up and paying for your rip off, unapproved fees…after I declined your ridiculously high repair costs. Even paying your almost $300 bill for just getting a $70 oil change done, I still came out ahead by GOING SOMEWHERE ELSE, so no…I don’t think anything you offer is a value, you are a dishonest and overpriced repair facility.

Jason, After seeing your review we reviewed your repair order from your visit to the dealership. You indicated your approval to have diagnostics performed on your vehicle for the charge of $160 with your signature. This practice is to ensure we have authorization to perform the diagnostics on customer's vehicle and they know the cost right up front before any work is performed. Regarding the price of repairs as a factory authorized repair facility we not only have factory trained technicians we also have factory authorized/provided equipment that you will not find at independent repair facilities. This training and equipment will typically ensure your vehicle is repaired not only timely but properly to factory specifications. Along with every service we also offer free fluid top off, battery health check, alignment check, 27 multi-point inspection, and automatic car wash and vacuum. I am sure when you take all of the additional services along with factory trained technicians and equipment you will find the pricing more than fair.

I was happy with the price I got for having 5 tires unmounted and having 4 new tires mounted and balanced , but the time frame they gave me of a couple hours turned into 4 1/2 hours. Had I have known it was going to be that long I would have had someone give me a ride home and they could call me when done.

I feel like there is a lot of communication break down with this company. I called to double check my appointment time, come to find out the lady never put me down. Also the prices vary depending on the person you talk to. However, one thing is for sure it's always over priced. It's cheaper for me to drive 2 hrs back home to have my car worked on.

I did speak with my service department and Brooke does recall speaking with you last Saturday when you called in to inquire about whether your Malibu had any open recalls. Brooke stated she looked up your vehicle in General Motors system and your specific VIN does not have any open recalls at this time. She said you did express some displeasure that you would be responsible for the repairs on your vehicle as it does not have any remaining warranty or coverages from the manufacturer. Regarding the pricing of our services here at Deery Brothers of West Burlington. I am sure you will find our pricing is certainly in line with other dealerships with factory trained ASE certified technicians with state of the art of equipment and facilities. I'm new to Iowa from Ohio and dealed with Deery Brothers and dealed with other dealers tried to charge me $3800 for a dent on my truck that cost a $1000 they low ball so bad would not recommend.

Austin, Sorry to hear you felt differently regarding the damage to your grandfather's truck that he wanted to trade in for a new truck. Had we received permission to have a proper estimate completed at the collision center we may have been able to give your grandfather a more accurate estimate of the cost to replace the rear quarter panel, repair the tailgate and repaint his truck. If he received an estimate to repair his truck from an iCar certified collision center for $1000 we would recommend he return to that collision center and have them complete the work and we can reevaluate his truck at that time. Regarding your grandfather's other trade with the salvage title it can be difficult to appraise a salvage titled vehicle when we have an opportunity to see and drive it. With just the pictures to base an offer on it makes a difficult task even more difficult. If your grandfather gives us an opportunity to physically see the other trade we will be able to make a proper inspection of the other trade and make him a more accurate offer. Please have your grandfather let us know when he has the damage repaired and when he can get both trades to the dealership to have proper appraisals completed. Please have your grandfather contact us if he has any questions.

My son is a student at U of Iowa and a tire blew on our 12 yo van a few days before break. We had the car towed to Deery. Josh, in service, evaluated the problem (a bent rim), ordered a used rim (no new are made anymore) and had it repaired within a day. Not only were we happy with their prompt service, but we were very happy that the bill was reasonable. Thanks Josh and Deery GM.
